When I teach the game, I teach with passion, and I have recognised that players need consistency and that this is best achieved by simplifying aspects of the game that can often become over complicated.

I believe strongly in the importance of the short game and can’t stress how important this side of the game is. This will account for over 50% of you shots in a round, so you can’t afford to have and weak components in your game. Simplifying key areas of the game and using specific improvement techniques to overcome specific weaknesses are among many of the facets of the game that are reviewed, developed, practiced in my short game sessions.

You can learn to drive it further, you can learn to swing the club better and you can spend a lot of money in achieving them. All of this is important, but what real impact will it have on your game and your scores and how long will that improvement take? With an understanding of the latest short game techniques and a determination to become the best player around the greens you can be, your handicap will improve, your scores will come down and competitive success will follow.

My simple methods and demonstrations have had immediate success with many of my pupils.

Visualisation and Feel

Visualisation and imagination plays a big part in my teaching, the short game is all about feel, the skills and techniques that I use allows my pupils to improve their technique and at the same time not lose the feel over the shot. Visualising the shot and executing the shot are two different things, with the techniques I will show in the lessons you will be able to enjoy the challenge of those shot saving chip shots and ultimately reduce your handicap.

Using the Correct Equipment

The equipment used during your short game, namely your putter and wedges are key components but only if you are using the right ones for your individual game.

Set make up, what loft, lie angle to use, putter style, length and weight, are all variables I can advise on, just see me in the Pro Shop and I can help you maximize your potential.

‘Putt for Dough’

Golfers love to spend big on the latest Drivers but if you ask yourself the question which club you use the most and the answer is your putter. So don’t use a putter that is years old because you think it doesn’t matter what I putt with.

You couldn’t be more wrong. On average you will use your driver 12-14 times in a round yet the amateur golfer will use their utter on average, 36 times. Now I know where I would rather spend my money and that would be on the putter. I can easily evaluate your putting stroke and recommend a putter that suits you as an individual.
